As President and CEO of Rizzoli International Publications, Peccatori spoke to ge.M about not only the renowned publishing house, but also the iconic Rizzoli Bookstore in New York, which celebrated its 60th anniversary in 2014.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Originally opened in 1964 as a bookshop, Rizzoli New York launched its publishing arm a decade later. From the very beginning, the imprint set itself apart by focusing on high-end illustrated books. Angelo Rizzoli \u2013 a key figure in Italy\u2019s cultural industry, spanning both cinema and publishing \u2013 was a frequent presence in New York and realised there was a gap in the market for a bookstore dedicated entirely to illustrated books. This led him to open the first Rizzoli Bookstore on Fifth Avenue. The transition from bookseller to publisher came ten years later, and ever since, Rizzoli New York has continued to grow in prestige \u2013 thanks above all, as Peccatori told ge.M, to its carefully curated selection of titles, which have always stood out for their perfect balance of substance and style.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
